Help Haley Secure Her NYU Teacher Residency

Dear Friends,

Since 2021 I've been working to complete my Master's Degree in Secondary Education with the hope of becoming the kind of social studies teacher whose students go on to change the world for the better. This past week I received the encouraging news that I have been offered a place in New York University's Teacher Residency Program, which means I can finally finish my education.

As I'm sure you are aware, higher education in the US is extremely expensive, and while I am fortunate and grateful that down the road, scholarships and financial aid will offset the majority of the cost of the program, as it stands today, I lack the funds to even accept the offer.

NYU requires a $200 deposit by May 30--5 days from now-- in order to hold my spot in the program. I have been working two jobs for the last 6 months, but as it happens, being a single parent is also very expensive. In short, I need a miracle.

Times are hard. We are all tightening our belts and working too hard for the privilege, so if you can't afford the expense but can offer a prayer or some good mojo instead, I'll happily accept it. But if you do have a few bucks to spare, please consider helping us get to New York.
