I’ve needed emergency surgery for five months now, and the pain has been overwhelming. I’ve been between work contracts for three months, so that’s three months without pay. I’ve used up all my savings, which has made things very nerve wracking being a single mother. My insurance company misled me, draining my savings and leaving me without coverage when I needed it most. I have a very severe case of de Quervain’s tenosynovitis, and every day is a struggle just to get through the pain.
