Help My Sister Fight Against Stage IV Endometriosis
I’m writing this on behalf of my sister, who is battling Stage IV endometriosis. In July 2024, she had her first surgery, which led to the devastating diagnosis of this severe condition. While the surgeon was able to remove some of the visible lesions, she has continued to experience relentless, excruciating pain around her left kidney. This pain has been debilitating, leaving her in constant pain.
After consulting with her care team, it seems she may be dealing with a rare form of endometriosis that has infiltrated her kidney. Treating this type of endometriosis requires a team of highly specialized doctors, including a gynecologist, vascular surgeons, nephrologists, and other specialists. My sister has found a doctor who can help, but the doctor is out of network and out of state, meaning she will need to travel and pay for treatment and surgery out of pocket.
As many of us know, women’s healthcare is very underfunded, making it difficult for her to access the specialized care she needs within her network. The risks are frightening and time-sensitive—if untreated, this condition could lead to kidney swelling and even the loss of her kidney.
We are asking for your help to cover the medical expenses, travel costs, and any other related expenses that she will face as she seeks the treatment she desperately needs. Any support you can provide, whether it’s through a donation or by sharing this campaign, would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my sister’s fight and for any help you can offer!
