Help Halawa Heal: Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
Halawa, my precious cat, ran away for 7 months and after months of searching she was finally found on October 12, 2024. Halawa is the name of my favorite Egyptian dessert and although she is a cat, her nature reminded me of the same sweetness as the dessert that I could not enjoy while she was gone for 7 months.
My relief when I found her was short lived – it quickly turned to worry when I noticed her wounds from feral cats and her consistent limping. And unfortunately, her diagnosis was worse than I imagined: the limping was caused by end-stage erosive arthritis from repeated trauma to her leg and the only cure is to amputate her leg.
If she does not amputate her leg, she will have to live with excruciating pain for the rest of her life and she is only 4 years old. My only barrier to getting her the pain relief she needs is the costs of the surgery. The bill for just the first visit out of the future numerous ones needed for her immediate care was a little over $1,200. Any donations to help my sweet girl will be appreciated immensely. If you cannot afford to make a donation, sharing the link with friends and family will be a huge help too.
