Help Halas family live in peace

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ali.

I'm raising funds on behalf of Hala & the Elkodary family (a family of 8) currently surviving the brutal conditions in Gaza for over a year now.

I have been in communication with Halas family for over 6 months and within that time frame they have been forcibly displaced over 4 times.

The reality of displacement carries not only a huge physical and emotional burden but also the major financial toll of having to transport 8 people along with all of their possessions, and often having to leave behind their sources of both shelter, cooking equipment and toilet facilities.

The limited aid that is currently entering the Gaza strip means that prices for even the basic necessities like food and water are massively inflated which means the family is often limited to eating canned foods like beans & legumes.

Naturally this limited diet is completely nutritionally insufficient, in particular for the children, and itself poses major health issues.

As well as trying to find ways to survive the dystopian conditions day to day, Halas family are also hopeful of raising funds for evacuation once the boarder crossing reopens.

Like every family, they are simply seeking a life where they can live safely and in peace.

Here's how you can help; ⬇️

  • Every little helps - of course larger donations, if they're available, are always welcome BUT if/when you don't have a lot to offer consider that if we all donated the cost of something small i.e. a coffee etc, this can also create a big impact.
  • Share their story - again this is about increasing the reach of the campaign to create maximum impact. When you can't contribute financially, consider contributing a small amount of time to engage & share the campaign with others through social media or otherwise.
  • Remember - the expectation here is not for each person to give beyond their means. The idea of crowdfunding is that everyone contributes to the best of their capacity (time, finances or otherwise) therefore creating a community (or "crowd") to carry the load for those who are most in need.

How these funds will be used;

  • food & water
  • winter clothing & bedding
  • any additional funds will be put towards evacuation once the boarder crossing reopens

How these funds will be accessed;

All funds will go through my own UK account and then be issued directly to the family where they will be able to access via Western Union.

Halas family need our support! Let's consider what we can each do to help.
