My name is Justin Hastings from Indianapolis, Indiana and I am organizing this Gofundme on behalf of my friend Hala Hilles who lives in Gaza and has lost everything, including her home. Hala is from North Gaza, which has been nearly completely destroyed by the occupying forces. Since then, she has been displaced numerous times, making the experience even more unbearable. HALA’S STORY

I am Hala Helles, born in 1989, displaced from northern Gaza, currently residing in a displacement center in Deir al-Balah. I hold a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and I am a survivor of the genocide war against Gaza.

Before the outbreak of the war, I had a beautiful home in Gaza City, where I lived with my family of 12 members. I worked as a teacher at the Al-Wissam Cultural Educational Center in Gaza for over 13 years.

With the outbreak of the war and the indiscriminate shelling of the city, we lost our four-story home, and my family and I were forced to flee to the southern part of the Gaza Strip in search of shelter and safety. Now we all live in a small tent barely fitting us in the displacement centers in Deir al-Balah. We are trying our best to cope with the harsh reality and the difficulties we face due to this bloody war. The losses didn't stop there; I also lost my job because the educational center where I worked was destroyed due to the military attacks on the area. Now, I find myself without work and without a home.

After eight months of war, I was determined to rise again, refusing to surrender to the harsh circumstances, and seeking to build a better future for my family and myself. I decided to resume my work and help the children of the camp in their learning. Therefore, I would like to ask for your assistance in establishing my own educational center, aiming to teach children and help them obtain their right to education. I also want to rebuild our home, which represents our safety and shelter."

I am striving to achieve my dream of establishing my own educational center, in addition to rebuilding our destroyed home. I need your help to raise a total of $45,000 to achieve this goal.
