Hi all, my name is Hayden, I am an organizer based in the DMV area who has been raising funds with my friends through our fundraising group “Watermelon Wares”. For the past few months we’ve been assisting our friend Ahmed and his family in Egypt after they fled the Gaza Strip. Although they are no longer facing death from the skies, they are stuck in an unfamiliar country with no legal status and no means for providing for themselves. Their only hope is to assist their daughter Hala with moving to Germany and starting a new life to help provide for them. Here is their story:

Hello my friends dear

My name is Dr. Hala Mohammed Nazir, I am 27 years old and I am originally from Gaza. I graduated from Mansoura University in 2022 and completed my internship year in Gaza. I worked as a physician in the UNRWA summer games program, and afterwards I signed a contract as a family doctor at an UNRWA clinic. Unfortunately, I couldn’t continue working due to the outbreak of the war in 2023.

I endured the war for three months, but eventually I had to flee to Egypt because of the severe danger in our area. A large part of our home was destroyed.

While in Egypt, I decided to pursue my medical specialization in Germany. I completed my German language studies and passed the B2 German language exam. I also submitted my documents for recognition in the state of Baden-Württemberg and received a Defizitbescheid, which qualifies me to apply for a §16d visa at the German embassy in Cairo.

However, the biggest challenge is that the visa application requires a blocked bank account in Germany (Fintiba) with a deposit of around 13,000 euros – the estimated yearly cost of living until I can start working as a doctor after passing the medical language exam and the knowledge exam (Kenntnisprüfung).

It is extremely difficult for me and my family to raise this amount, especially since my father's salary was suspended during the war and our resources now barely cover our basic living expenses.

That is why we created this campaign now so that we can collect this money to achieve my dream and complete my path after it was stopped because of this war and to reach my goal and we ask for your help by donating and participating, my friends.
