My name is Anique, I'm from the Netherlands and I created this emergency campaign for my sweet friend Hala in Gaza. Please read her story:

Hello friends,

My name is Hala, I am 15 years old and I need your support. I'm a Palestinian living in Gaza together with my family; my father Mohammed (46), my mother Soha (40), and my four siblings Adnan (14), Nada (12), Abd Alrahman (11) and Omer (4). Any moment now my mother will give birth to a baby girl, my sister! Although becoming a big sister again is very exciting, it also scares me a lot. Because of the siege on Gaza, no aid, food or even medicine, is getting in, we are being starved for weeks now. On top of that the situation is very dangerous. The attacks have intensified and we live in constant fear of bombings every second of every day. All we want is for this to stop and to be able to live our lives in peace.

It wasn't always like this. Before October 7th 2023 life was challenging but we lived a happy life in our family home, my father had a job and me and my siblings went to school to study for our future. Nothing prepares you for this kind of cruelty and inhumane treatment we are suffering from now. We need the support of everyone, for food and clean drinking water, for repairs to our tent that we live in because our house was completely destroyed.

I hope and pray that kind people like yourself will stand by us in these unimaginable difficult times. My siblings and I wish for our lives to resemble any kind of normalcy again, we wish to be children again, like in all those other places around the world where there is still peace. That's all we want, to survive this and try to build a life again.

أهلًا أصدقائي،

اسمي هالة، عمري ١٥ عامًا، وأحتاج دعمكم. أنا فلسطينية أعيش في غزة مع عائلتي؛ والدي محمد (٤٦ عامًا)، ووالدتي سهى (٤٠ عامًا)، وإخوتي الأربعة عدنان (١٤ عامًا)، وندى (١٢ عامًا)، وعبد الرحمن (١١ عامًا)، وعمر (٤ أعوام). في أي لحظة ستلد والدتي طفلة، أختي! مع أن عودة أختي الكبرى أمرٌ مثيرٌ للغاية، إلا أنه يُخيفني كثيرًا أيضًا. بسبب الحصار على غزة، لا تصل أي مساعدات، لا طعام ولا حتى أدوية، ونحن نتضور جوعًا منذ أسابيع. علاوة على ذلك، الوضع خطير للغاية. اشتدت الهجمات ونعيش في خوف دائم من القصف كل ثانية من كل يوم. كل ما نريده هو أن يتوقف هذا وأن نتمكن من عيش حياتنا بسلام.

لم يكن الأمر هكذا دائمًا. قبل السابع من أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2023، كانت الحياة صعبة، لكننا عشنا حياة سعيدة في منزلنا العائلي، كان والدي يعمل، وأنا وإخوتي ندرس لنبني مستقبلنا. لا شيء يُهيئنا لهذا النوع من القسوة والمعاملة اللاإنسانية التي نعاني منها الآن. نحن بحاجة إلى دعم الجميع، من طعام وماء شرب نظيف، وإصلاح خيمتنا التي نعيش فيها بعد أن دُمر منزلنا بالكامل.

آمل وأدعو الله أن يقف معنا أناس طيبون مثلك في هذه الأوقات العصيبة التي لا تُصدق. أتمنى أنا وإخوتي أن تعود حياتنا إلى طبيعتها، ونتمنى أن نعود أطفالاً، كما في كل الأماكن الأخرى حول العالم حيث لا يزال السلام قائماً. هذا كل ما نريده، أن نتجاوز هذه المحنة ونحاول بناء حياة جديدة.
