Help Haku Recover from a Car Accident

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart. Today, 4/15/25, my sweet dog Haku was hit by a car during a freak accident while we were playing ball at Dolores Park. The ball rolled into the street, and before I could stop him, he ran after it. In an instant, everything changed.

Haku has a fractured jaw that will need surgery, a dislocated pelvis, contusions to his lungs, fluid in his lungs, and several lacerations. After being evaluated at the emergency vet, I had to make the incredibly difficult decision to monitor him at home because I couldn’t afford to keep him at the hospital overnight.

I’ve only had him for two months, but he’s already family. He’s a rescue from the LA fires and has survived a history of abuse before coming into my life. Despite everything he’s been through, he is the gentlest, goofiest, most loving soul. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his big heart and sweet spirit.

The emergency vet and surgical costs are overwhelming, and I’m humbly asking for help to cover his care so he can get the treatment he needs to survive and heal. Every dollar helps, and if you can’t donate, sharing this with your network would mean the world to me.
