Help Hajun's Family

Hajun Kim is our daughters’ school mate at Barksdale Elementary. In 2016 the Kim family left their home in South Korea and moved to the States so Hajun’s father could further his education. After 3 years in Cincinnati, they came to Dallas. Hajun’s father is currently a PhD candidate at the University of North Texas and works at a local church to support his family.
On October 7, 2019, Hajun’s temperature spiked. Initially, his parents attributed his fever to a cold and hoped that he would recover with bed rest. Unfortunately, Hajun’s condition took a turn and on October 10th, they rushed him to the emergency room at Children’s hospital. Over the next couple days, his health continued to deteriorate, and he was placed in a medically induced coma. Hajun was hooked up to a ventilator in the ICU, and doctors worked to reduce the swelling in his brain. The specialists ran test after test to diagnose Hajun. After nearly a month, the doctors determined that Hajun had contracted a virus that was affecting his brain.
Hajun’s recovery is nothing short of a miracle; he came back from the brink of death! He has now regained consciousness, but he still has a long road ahead of him. He is working hard to rehabilitate the motor skills he has lost, and he has ongoing medical needs.
As you can imagine, the medical expenses are mounting. This campaign was created as a way to help alleviate some of the financial strain on this family with limited resources. The collected funds will solely be used for Hajun’s medical expenses. I hope you will join me in helping this family in need. Every donation counts!
