Hi, this is Hailey Belle. We adopted Hailey in 2018 from a rescue based in Northern Virginia. Hailey came to us very, very fearful. It look a long time, but she learned to feel safe in her home, trust her family, and to love her dog siblings. She loves her family so, so much now. When we come

home, she gives us big happy welcoming woofs, and she follows me all through the house all day. She sit beside me when I am working so I can pet her and she loves to find a cozy den. She is always the first to come when I call the dogs and she loves to sit outside on the porch watching the world. She is the most wonderful and loving dog, and we often refer to her as the most perfect dog. She really truly is.

A few weeks ago, we noticed that Hailey was not acting like herself. After a few vet visits, we discovered that she has anal gland melanoma, an extremely rare and very aggressive tumor. On November 25, Hailey saw oncology and surgery at Friendship Hospital and she will be having surgery on Wednesday November 26. Two weeks post-op, she will begin radiation. She also began immunotherapy today, which will continue. We want to give Hailey the best option at having a full life. She is only 8 years old and before we adopted her, she had a hard life. Her x-rays today showed that she has buckshot under her skin from being shot at when she was younger before we adopted her, and when we first got her, she was terrified of everyone. She’s come such a long way and we want to help get her through this challenging cancer. Thank you so much for your help and support.
