Help Hailey and Evie Shine at AKC Nationals

Hailey McNear has been invited to compete at the December 2025 AKC National Championship dog show in Orlando, Florida. However, she is currently enrolled in college, working toward becoming a Veterinarian, and is unable to finance her participation. The Columbine Skye Terrier Club is sponsoring her and her dog Evie, and we ask other Skye lovers to help send this extraordinary young person to Florida.

Hailey: I have spent the last several years competing in the 4-H dog project, competing in events like showmanship, rally, obedience, and agility. I spent my final year in 4-H as its club president as well as leading and mentoring the next generation. I have been invited back this year to help teach and mentor other 4-H dog project teams.

Evie and I completed the Star Puppy class and title and she quickly obtained her POA points. She also earned a BPIS at her first AKC show and this year earned both NOHS and regular group placements. I did all the training, grooming, and showing of Evie. I’m training to compete in rally and obedience with her this year and plan to obtain her CGC and trick dog titles. I’m also interested in trying her out in events like barnhunt, scentwork, and agility. Evie and I finished the NOHS among great competitors, in the # 5 spot. She is ranked #11 all breed. Evie and I finished as #1 Skye Terrier Junior handler, finishing with several Best Junior Handler Awards.
