My name is Hady, and my mother has been sick for the entirety of my life with Lupus and Crohn's disease. Lupus has no cure and can cause pain horrific enough that at some point, your heart simply can't take it anymore. As science has progressed, thank God, more medications have come out for folks like my mother to not only extend their lives but to make them more comfortable. 

My mother is supposed to start a new chemotherapy treatment that will improve her length and quality of life significantly. The problem being, the treatments cannot happen inside of a hospital due to the high probability of her contracting infections that would ultimately lead to her death. Health insurance does not cover at-home care, and we do not have the means to cover it ourselves.
