My little niece Hadlee Rae has had rough couple of days as of lately and has been in the hospital for a few days. Here is some back ground info of her story, After being sick for 6 days and vomiting, weight loss she was admitted to Kaiser Roseville. After multiple X-Rays, and GI testing all through the night the doctors were able to rule out a few things. So far they've been able to determine that she has a protein allergy that doesn't allow her body to process any form of Milk or Soy Proteins. She has been put on a Hypoallergenic Amino Acid based formula called Elecare and we have had excellent results with that today. She has not thrown up once today and has been eating fantastic.

While they were checking all other things out they ran a test for RSV or Respiratory Syncytial Virus. The test came back positive so on top of monitoring her feedings with the new formula they have decided to keep us here for a few more days. RSV is very common and for most people and kids it just acts like a common cold, however with Hadlee due to her extremely small size already and the way she's been loosing weight they have to monitor her very closely because it can turn bad.

This new formula is extremely expensive and only comes in small serving containers that last just a couple days per can. In order for Hadlee Rae to improve and get back into tip top shape she is going to need this formula for a while. Along with medical cost and stay and new formulas, we all know things add up quickly.
