Some brothers couldn’t be more different.

Hades is the bigger of the two—the confident explorer who often leads the way. Erebus is his smaller twin, always close behind, proving that courage isn’t measured by size. Together, they’ve spent their kittenhood learning, playing, and growing side by side.

When Hades and Erebus came into our care, they needed the same things every rescued kitten deserves: safety, nutritious food, veterinary care, and the opportunity to simply be kittens. Week by week, they’ve grown stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Watching these brothers together has been one of the great joys of this rescue season. Whether they’re chasing each other through the room, wrestling over the same toy, or curling up together after a busy day, they’ve reminded us that every kitten deserves the chance to grow up feeling safe and loved.

Preparing two rescued kittens for adoption costs far more than most people realize. By the time Hades and Erebus are ready for their forever homes, their care will include:

We’re asking the community to help raise $600 toward Hades and Erebus’s care. While the total value of their care is higher, we’ll continue covering the remaining costs so both brothers receive everything they need to become healthy, fully vetted, and ready for adoption.

This fundraiser is part of the Mojave Cat Journal Kitten Launch Fund.

Community sponsorship helps cover the cost of rescue, medical care, and preparation before rescued kittens join their forever families. Every contribution helps ensure Hades and Erebus receive the veterinary care, nutrition, and support they need to begin the next chapter of their lives.

Our goal is simple: every kitten should leave for their new home healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed or neutered when appropriate, and with a great start in life. When a Launch Fund is fully supported, it gives us the flexibility to reduce or eliminate adoption costs and, whenever possible, send kittens home with starter supplies that may include food, litter, toys, and other essentials.

Whether these brothers are adopted together or begin new adventures in separate homes, they’ll always share the remarkable journey that brought them here.
