On July 20, 2022 two individuals broke into Habitat for Humanity of SW Montana's Warehouse space and stole our construction tool truck. While steeling the truck, they also did substantial damage to the doors to our warehouse, the fencing and gates to our storage yard by ramming the truck through our gates to escape with our tools.
The truck has been recovered with only minor damage; however, all of our tools were taken from the truck. The tools in this truck are the lifeblood of our organization, and without our tools, our construction operation grinds to a screeching halt. It is currently unclear how much our insurance will cover after a deductable, and we urgently need to return to our normal operation.
We are asking the community to help us raise 25k to cover the losses associated with this theft and heightened shop security measures so we can get back to our mission of serving southwest Montana with affordable homeownership opportunities.
