My name is Habiba Al-Askari, and I am three years old from Gaza. I was born with a genetic deficiency of Protein C, which causes excessive blood clotting. Because of the blockade on Gaza and the difficulties in obtaining travel permits, my treatment was delayed, and my condition worsened, leading to gangrene spreading in my limbs.
After CNN broadcast my story through intense diplomatic efforts and a royal directive, I was transferred to Jordan for medical treatment. Upon my arrival at Queen Rania Hospital for Children in Al-Hussein Medical City, doctors determined that to save my life, they had no choice but to amputate both of my arms and my left leg due to the severity of my condition.
My treatment will be a lifelong journey. While much of the cost is currently covered, I still need your support for essential needs that aren't — and to help me build a secure future.
