Help Maria Haanen Rebuild After Tragic Home Fire
Our dear friend, Maria Haanen, has faced immense challenges over the years but continues to inspire everyone with her strength and determination. Maria has been raising her two children, Sophie and Edison, on her own since the tragic passing of her husband, Brian Haanen, on August 7, 2019. Despite the hardships, Maria has worked tirelessly to support her family, without financial aid, and has managed to secure a vehicle and, most recently, a mobile home in Auberry, California.
On Monday, March 31, 2025, disaster struck again. An electrical fire broke out in one of the bedrooms while Maria was at work and the children were at school. Thankfully, they were not home at the time, but the damage to their new home is devastating—smoke and fire damage have rendered the home a total loss. They also lost a big part of their family, their fur baby/puppy Zeggie. Losing Zeggie has been rough for the kids, losing another loved one.
Maria is one of the kindest, most selfless individuals you will ever meet. Even in the face of such tragedy, she remains thankful that her family is safe. She is an inspiration to all who know her.
We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help Maria and the children rebuild their lives. Any donation, no matter the size, will help them find a new home, secure necessary furniture and appliances, and replace the essentials lost in the fire.
The goal is $25,000, which will go directly toward housing, furnishings, clothes, and household essentials. Let’s show Maria and her family that they are not alone in this difficult time.
Thank you for your generosity and support. We are so grateful for every contribution, and we know that together, we can help Maria and her children find hope and healing as they move forward giving all the glory to God.
