April 2025 Update: H and Daisy are needing to come up with funds for housing and basic needs. Their current living situation is ending and they're in need of support to afford housing starting May 1st. They are searching for housing options and don't know the amount needed at this time, but any donations are greatly appreciated.
They are continuing to reach out to 211/churches/government resources but funds & applications for services are limited.*

My friend H is recovering from experiencing many injuries and houselessness, with their dog Daisy.
We're trying to raise enough money to pay off their many debts, bills and help support them in having shelter, food, healthcare and other basic needs for them and their service dog, Daisy.
H is an incredibly sweet soul who's suffered major health issues. They moved to Portland, OR in 2022 to pursue a major in Social Work and help other people. A year ago they themselves were working at 2-1-1 offering housing support to others!
Life had different plans --they were laid off from their government job of 6 years, lost health insurance and their car, were hit by a car, and had to drop out of school for the time being. They were just evicted on December 1st, leaving them and their service dog, Daisy, to scramble for shelter, first in a rental car, then a hotel, and now in a hostel.
The car accident they were in resulted in H recovering from a traumatic brain injury, full body injuries, and they are suffering greatly + needing community support at this time. The compounded stress has caused them and Daisy to enter survival mode and simply try to recover each day.
A small donation will help to get them both back on track in life. $8,000 would open up options for longer term supports, while they continue to work towards stability and renewal.
