Support for Gwen Dorsey-Darby’s stroke recovery

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

UPDATE 7/2/25: Released from Rehab hospital May 12, 2025.

I'm in physical therapy and occupational therapy to get more use of the left side of my body. (I'm left handed) Improvent since being home. My right side was giving out and I was gifted an electric moble wheelchair. The donations are being put togood use. Next projects to.

My task now is to WANT TO and not quit. And I'm not. Your prayers and Jehovah's power is giving me power.

Your donations and gifts are making it easier for John and me to keep going. Thank very much. Love ❤️ you all.

My name is Gwen (aka Genet) Dorsey-Darby and I'm reaching out with a humble request for your help during one of the most challenging times of my life.

On April 5, 2025, I suffered a stroke that left the entire left side of my body-my dominant side-paralyzed. This life-changing event has affected not just my mobility, but also the simple routines of daily living.

My husband and I are both retired and have always tried to support and uplift others. But now, in this unexpected moment, we find ourselves needing support to help me maintain some independence and dignity at home.

To continue living safely and comfortably, especially on the first floor of our home, we're asking for help with a few key modifications and medical equipment that will greatly improve my quality of life. Overusing my right side has started to cause pain and weakness and without the right support it's becoming harder to stay mobile.

Your generosity will help us with:
1. installing a shower on the 1st floor for safer bathing
2. purchasing a mobile electric scooter to prevent strain on my right side
3. installing a ramp for easier entry and exit
4. Adding a gate to provide access to our backyard

Any amount you can give is deeply appreciated. Your kindness will bring us one step closer to making our home a place where I can heal, move, and live with a bit more comfort.
From the bottom of our hearts-thank you.
