Help Gustavo Heal After Hit-and-Run Tragedy

On what should have been a day of celebration, Gustavo’s birthday turned into a life changing nightmare.

A reckless driver allegedly stole her boyfriend’s car, blew through a stop sign, and crashed into him, leaving him bleeding in the street with his right foot completely amputated. Bleeding heavily and fighting for his life, Gustavo did the unthinkable, he took off his own shirt and wrapped his leg to make a tourniquet until help arrived. Despite his bravery, doctors unfortunately could not save it so he has now lost his right leg.

To make matters even worse, the driver has not been caught yet.

Anyone who knows Gustavo knows the kind of person he is. Funny, full of good energy, and always able to light up a room. He loved riding his bike and enjoying life, but now he faces an uphill battle of recovery, medical bills, and eventually learning to live with a prosthetic. He won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future.
