Gus is a charismatic little guy who came into our lives after being abandoned by a previous owner. He is gradually becoming a more affectionate kitty who loves many things including his bed, bird watching, and enjoying the sun on the back porch!
Recently, Gus has been experiencing intense muscle spasms accompanied by frequently “chewing” his mouth. The vet concluded that Gus has dental decay (very common in cats) but is also suffering from a condition which is slowly pushing his canines out. The muscle spasms and air biting are symptoms of his discomfort. We can imagine it’s very painful!
Gus's teeth might eventually fall out on their own but it would be years before that happens and it's not guaranteed. The best course of action to stop his pain is to have the affected teeth removed as soon as possible. We want very much to help Gus have an easy, pain free rest of his life and this is where we need your help!
The estimated cost of the dental work is over $2,000. This cost includes everything from the teeth removal itself to the anesthesia and more. The set goal of $2,300 will allow us to not only cover the surgery but also any last minute charges the vet may add on.
Any and all help is massively appreciated and we hope the funds may be raised as soon as September so that Gus doesn't have to endure his discomfort much longer! This little void deserves nothing but comfort during his "retirement years". We and Gus are optimistic and are so thankful in advance to all of you who can help!
Here he is, smiling so big at the thought of reaching our goal.
Thank you!
