Hi, my name is Lindsey, and I’m fundraising for our beautiful boy Gus, who is just 4½ years old.

Gus has been diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma involving his pelvis, and hearing those words has completely turned our world upside down. He’s still so young, full of personality, and absolutely adored by everyone who meets him.

Despite his diagnosis, Gus still wants to play, tear around the garden, and be part of everyday life. Sadly, the cancer affects his mobility and causes pain, meaning long walks and normal routines are no longer possible for him.

After consultations with specialists, surgery isn’t an option due to the location of the tumour. Instead, Gus’s treatment plan focuses on palliative radiotherapy, bisphosphonate injections for bone pain, and ongoing pain management to give him the best comfort and quality of life possible.

We have pet insurance, but it does not fully cover the costs of specialist oncology care, radiotherapy, medications, and ongoing treatment. We’ve also made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone our wedding so we can focus entirely on Gus and his care, which has added further financial and emotional strain.

We may not be able to have children due to my fertility, and because of that, Gus truly is our whole world. We’ve poured our hearts, time, and everything we have into him. He isn’t “just a dog” to us- he is family- and we want to do everything we can to give him comfort, dignity, and the happiest days possible.

The costs for specialist consultations, imaging, radiotherapy, medications, and ongoing care are significant and ongoing. We are doing everything we can ourselves, but the financial pressure is becoming hard to manage alone.

We’re not asking for miracles- just time, comfort, and quality of life for a dog who deserves so much more.
