Help Gus Beat Cancer with 3 Feet!

Hello my name is Mitch and I am creating this GoFundMe for my dog Gus.

Gus had his hind leg amputated about a month ago due to a sudden Bone Cancer diagnosis.
I was told yesterday that my insurance for Gus would not be paying for any of his operation or exam costs related to his cancer. Even after my appeal letter explaining how NO ONE was aware of it.

Gus is a handsome and adorable Black Lab Brittany Spaniel mix turning 4 years old this July. His mission in life is to eagerly greet everyone who walks in our door and demand pets from them with a big smile on his face. That and FETCH FETCH FETCH, BALL!
When Gus was experiencing swelling and limping in his back leg a month before all this we assumed he pulled something from a rigorous play date after a cold dormant winter.
After trying standard treatment we took Xrays that showed a large growth inside his back left knee bone.
I had gotten insurance for gus during his treatment thinking he would need a big leg surgery to fix his knee and expected costs to arise after the surgery.
We had ZERO idea of Gus’ condition until after the X-rays and he wasn’t fully diagnosed until two weeks later when they did a biopsy.
Because Gus had his X-rays which hinted at signs of Osteosarcoma before his 14 illness waiting period was over: the insurance has determined that his bone cancer was a pre-existing condition even though no discussion about cancer or diagnosis occurred until after I signed up for insurance and well passed the waiting period. My vet stated in his records that it was most certainly expected to be a tear in his knee.
even after an appeal letter they will not cover ANY of Gus’s cancer treatment or amputation operation.
Well over $6000 in costs down the drain because I wanted to get my dog faster diagnosis and treatment to give him a chance.
He is young and will need chemotherapy to keep anything from spreading further. The source is gone but cells likely exist inside him. I deeply ask for help and support so I can get Gus treatment
that will help him live longer, fetch farther and keep greeting every individual that comes through our door.
Anything will help and we will be incredibly grateful.
THANK YOU FOR READING - Gus
