Gus has been a cherished member of our family since he was a puppy. He’s a nine-year-old Bernese mountain dog with the kindest, sweetest personality—everyone who meets him falls in love with his gentle demeanor. Recently, Gus was diagnosed with oral melanoma. Thankfully, the cancer has only been found in one lymph node so far, and his chest x-rays are clear. This gives us hope that with the right treatment, Gus has a strong chance of recovery and more happy years ahead.

To give Gus his best shot, he needs a special immunotherapy treatment that’s only available through a veterinary oncologist, as well as surgery to remove the affected lymph node. Despite our best efforts and having good pet insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for this life-saving care are overwhelming. We’re facing expenses that are far beyond what we can manage alone, but we’re determined to do everything possible to save Gus’s life and give him more time with our family.

The veterinarians have told us that without treatment, Gus may only have another six months. With treatment, his outlook is much brighter. We urgently need to start treatment right away to give him the best chance of survival. We’re reaching out to our community for help—any support you can give means the world to us and to Gus.
