Two years ago, our lives turned upside down when my brother GuruPrashant was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. Unemployed since due to his illness and without insurance, he’s fought ongoing health battles.

Now in critical condition in Mumbai’s ICU, a viral flu has escalated into life-threatening issues: severe jaundice, critically low blood pressure and oxygen, liver and blood infections. His body is extremely weak under constant monitoring.

Worsening this, he’s developed a severe infection in his left eye. Doctors are battling to control it and preparing for emergency cornea transplant surgery once a donor match is found—only then will we know if his vision can be saved.

We’ve spent ₹8 lakhs (CAD 12,000) out-of-pocket on emergency care and bills. Savings gone, we’re borrowing to keep treatment going. His wife Susheela and our elderly parents (both 75) are heartbroken and desperate.

While we wish we could share an exact target amount, the reality is that medical costs are uncertain and remain unpredictable due to ongoing ICU care, tests, and potential procedures. Expenses may continue to change as treatment progresses. Any unused funds, if applicable, will be used strictly for recovery‑related medical needs.
