Help Guro Mike and Rebuild after Fire
Donation protected
On August 14, 2020, in the middle of an already devastating economic crisis, Ninong Mike "Tandang" Eugenio's home caught fire and burned, with most of his and his family's possessions in it. His art, his training equipment, treasured and unique weapons, photographs, and even more mundane but important items burned in that fire. This is particularly difficult now, in a time where teaching martial arts in Illinois is difficult to do safely.
Anyone who has trained with Mike knows the kind, playful, patient spirit he brings to his teaching. He has obtained his knowledge through years of diligent training, but shares it readily and humbly. Whether he likes it or not, he's also an ambassador for the styles he trains in and teaches, because he demonstrates their effectiveness so well.
For now, Mike and his family have a place to stay, but they will soon need to get back on their feet. Some of the things lost in the fire are irreplaceable, but we want to replace whatever we can and help put Mike and his family right. He has touched the lives of many of us, and we hope that you can help return the favor.
