My name is Gunter, but everyone usually likes to call me Gunny :) I am a 4-month-old husky/heeler mix puppy with a brother named BMO! We came to our parents at just 10 days old after our mother tragically passed away. Since then, they have bottle-fed us, cared for us, and spoiled us rotten. We even recently started to get the hang of potty training too (wohoo for them)!

Unfortunately, I didn’t know any better and ate something I wasn’t supposed to :( I had a foreign body obstruction in my GI tract that the doctors at the wonderful UC Davis Vet Med Teaching Hospital, had to remove surgically by doing a small resection of my intestines and opened up my stomach.. I was feeling very sick and would not have been able to pass it on my own. Before hand they stabilized me with fluid therapy, made sure all my blood values were okay and I was off to surgery! During surgery, on top of my resection I did need to receive a blood transfusion to stabilize my condition and managed to do okay! I am expected to be as good as new after a couple days in the hospital, allowing that everything in my recovery goes to plan, but unfortunately, it has cost my loving parents a very pretty penny.
