On behalf of my dear friend and spiritual brother, Gunner Wright, I am assisting him with an appeal for some relief funds to weather his unfortunate circumstances from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. My name is Glenn Alcorn, and I have known Gunner for almost 20 years. Only a day ago, to my relief, I finally got a call from him due to some temporary cell towers being set up locally, and he is physically fine. He has been without electricity and internet since the storm, and the latest word is that it may be restored by the weekend, if not next week.
He lost his job just before the storm, and he will be hard-pressed to find work anytime soon due to the extensive damage that happened to businesses and storefronts in downtown Asheville. He has a 2003 Buick Century with a blown head gasket and a fallen tree on the windshield that is currently home to a large bees' nest. Some Black Hawk helicopters are dropping off food and water to a local church. He is volunteering with food distribution. This is my appeal to help him out to be able to pay his rent, buy some food, and get him back behind the wheel of a decent running vehicle. Gunner is a prolific artist, and his work is located at thewarengine.com. He is offering to gift anyone a piece of his art in recognition of any substantial donation when he gets back in the saddle.
