Guillermo and his family need your help.
Hi everyone,
We are raising funds to support our friend and community member, Guillermo, and his family after a sudden and devastating separation.
On February 2nd, Guillermo was detained by ICE when he went to what was supposed to be a routine, regularly scheduled check-in meeting — one that was part of the state-prescribed legal process he has been faithfully following.
Guillermo was unjustly detained. He has been working with legal representation, has lawful work authorization, and has been proudly moving through the proper steps toward full security and stability for his life here.
He is a kind-hearted, hardworking, and honest man who has always shown up for his community and for his family.
Now, his wife and two school-aged children are facing an unimaginable situation: the loss of their primary provider, uncertainty about the road ahead, and living daily in fear about what comes next. Please help us in supporting them through this extremely challenging time.
How Your Support Will Help
The funds raised will go directly toward helping Guillermo’s family with:
- Rent and basic household expenses
- Food and essentials for his children
- Mutual aid and emergency support
- Legal defense costs as his family fights for his release
We are hopeful Guillermo may be granted bail, but the legal process is long, expensive, and emotionally exhausting. His family is scared and currently trying to stay safe during this crisis.
Why We’re Asking Now
We want to share more details, but out of an abundance of caution — and to protect Guillermo’s legal case — we are limiting what we post publicly until we have guidance from his attorney.
What we can say with certainty is this: Guillermo needs support, and his family should not have to face this alone.
