My name is Caroline Aparecida de Souza Robertti, I am 32 years old, married to Guilherme Pereira Robertti, who is 34, and together we have our son Pedro Henrique, 11 years old. Since June 2024, we have been living in Ireland, seeking to build a stable and hopeful life.

Unfortunately, our family was struck by an unexpected and devastating situation.

In early December 2025, Guilherme began showing seemingly simple symptoms: small red spots on his skin and headaches. Within just a few days, his condition worsened dramatically. On December 7, he lost consciousness at home and was rushed to Mater Hospital in Dublin. After examinations, doctors diagnosed a brain hemorrhage caused by an aggressive type of leukemia called APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia).

This type of leukemia can be treated when identified early, but in Guilherme’s case, the progression was rapid and devastating. He was transferred to Beaumont Hospital, a reference in neurology, where he received intensive care.

Since then, his condition has worsened:

• The brain hemorrhage temporarily affected his vision.

• His kidneys stopped functioning, requiring constant dialysis.

• His respiratory capacity was severely compromised, and today he depends on mechanical ventilation.

• Leukemia impaired his blood clotting, requiring frequent transfusions and medications that, unfortunately, brought painful side effects.

• Currently, Guilherme is in an induced coma, in the ICU, fighting for his life.

Doctors have done everything within their reach but acknowledge that his case is critical. For us, what remains is faith in God and the hope that Guilherme can overcome this difficult moment.

Our Situation

While Guilherme fights for his life, Pedro and I are staying at friends’ homes, where we receive emotional support. However, expenses continue: rent, food, school, transportation to the hospital, and medical costs.

Guilherme was the main provider for our family, and his absence has left us in a financially fragile situation. Despite the help of friends, the church, and social workers, we need to strengthen our emergency fund to face the coming months.
