Help Groot Keep Animal Crack Ups Farm Running

Hi all! My name is Groot. I have been elected by the farm residents as the spoke animal so here we go. I came to live at Animal Crack Ups Farm as a rescue. Actually, most of us at the farm came here because we needed a home. The farm consists of horses, alpacas, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, a donkey, fish, dogs, cats, a bearded dragon and even a tortoise, Me!

Our farm human caregiver is a great person. She is awake with us every day making sure we have clean beds, food and water. Sometimes she is waking us up to do all that at 3:00 in the morning. Then she leaves for her job. It takes our human away for 12 -14 hours a day. She is a first responder and has been for 16 years. Even after getting up so early and spending so many hours at work, she still makes sure to take care of us when she finally gets back to the farm.

We try to help her by letting people come visit us. All of us put on our cutest faces and play with everyone that visits especially the little humans. The horses feel that they work the hardest because they let people learn to ride us in hopes of a donation. The pigs say they work the hardest because they refrain from eating people’s clothes when they visit. Thank Goodness they do! We have come to understand that money equals food and medicines for us so we do all we can to have our visitors donate. Our human explained to us that times are tough on money right now. A lot of visitors don’t have money to donate but still deserve an opportunity to enjoy a day together visiting us. She made us feel secure by telling us she will always give all she has to be sure we are taken care of first.

All of us living on the farm do all we can to keep costs down, Stuff Happens. It is our caregiver human who has learned home, barn, and irrigation repairs, lawn service, fence mending and so many other chores. So, when trees needed to be thinned out, so storms won’t hurt us, she set to doing it and save money for the $50 bales of hay we love so much. We all had an eye on her, and she took every safety measure to perform this task. We all learned that day that no matter how many precautions you take, accidents still happen. The very last branch on the very last tree kicked back and hit our human. I guess she tried to get away but forgot unlike some of our farm family she can’t fly. She fell from a 25-foot ladder. Every heart on the farm skipped a beat and we held our breath. As we all waited in fear and watched in horror, a very strange metal bird landed in our yard and took her away. (I wonder how much it costs to feed that metal bird??)

Our human’s mate came home and told us that our human has lots of broken parts. Fractured wrist, fractured sternum, a broken rib, fractures in her right hip and her pelvis and her arm is broken in multiple places. Human vets put metal parts in her arm to hold it together. I think the cats gave her a few of their lives because we are so very, very lucky to still have her.

Believe it or not it was Donkey, who may be the smartest of us, She reminded us that it was the job that gave the money to feed us. If she can’t go to job, she doesn’t get money and we don’t get food. While we have always tried to put on our best smiles and tried to be as cute as possible to get donations from our visitors, now we have to directly ask for help. Even donkey who is known for being stubborn, agrees this is all we can do to help and let me tell you typing when you don’t have fingers is almost as hard as asking for help.

So here we are putting our best fins, feathers, and furs, our best nose, snout and beak smiles forward to ask for everyone’s help. Whatever you can give will help go towards feeding and caring for the 62!!!! fins, feathers and furs that have been rescued and call Animal CrackUps Farm our home.
