Help Grogu Get Life-Saving Surgery

Grogu came into my life when I answered a call for help from the Winchester, VA SPCA. Five tiny, sick kittens had been left on their doorstep, and I decided to foster them. While I fell in love with all of them, Grogu—named for his ear tufts and chatty nature—quickly became part of our family. He always wanted to be close, snuggling on our shoulders or purring by our side. When it was time for the kittens to return to the shelter, Grogu had already chosen us, and we couldn’t let him go. His calm, friendly demeanor even made him the perfect companion for motorcycle rides, and he brought joy to everyone in our Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association family.

One evening, I came home to find Grogu unable to stand, his leg swollen and his breathing labored. A late-night emergency vet visit revealed not only a fractured ankle but also a rare congenital condition called peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH). His intestines were herniating into his chest, putting dangerous pressure on his lungs and heart. Without open chest surgery in the next few weeks, Grogu won’t survive. With it, he has the chance to live a full, happy life as our beloved motorcycle cat.

Grogu is a constant source of energy and love in our home, encouraging his older siblings to play and even helping care for our current foster kitten. He brings smiles to everyone he meets, especially our veteran motorcycle community, who often tell me how much they needed his kitten love. I am deeply grateful for any support to help cover the cost of Grogu’s life-saving surgery. Your kindness will give him the chance to keep spreading joy and purrs for years to come.
