Grissom's marching band is in desperate need of a stationary director's observation tower. What they have used in the past few years is now obsolete, and the directors cannot do their job for the marching band if they cannot be high enough in the air to see the intricate formations. This will help the band excel in competitions as well as football games. The tower would need to be at least 20'-25' in height secured to a concrete slab.
It is exciting to see students' dedication, their ability to do all the things required to perfect their craft, and how every student plays a part in the band program. They spend weeks learning drills, traveling to competitions, and showing off their skill at football games. Many will pursue playing their instrument for college and Music programs around the country. The attention to detail and discipline they learn in band carry over into their adult lives!
Did you know:
- The band program is funded by parents and donations
- The band program introduces the students to conductors from around the nation who teach them how to use music to apply for college scholarships as well as do masterclasses
- Students gain responsibility, discipline, and the scholastic benefits of music
Help the directors now and for future generations perfect their craft by donating to purchase an observation tower!
