Hey guys, this is really embarrassing but Ive been through some pretty worrisome gastrointestinal issues for a while and have a colonoscopy scheduled for the 26th to screen for anything going on. However after a long wait I was called yesterday by the doctor's office and told me I need to pay $2100 the day of the procedure, October 26th, or I cant get it done. If I cancel less than 2 days before I need to pay $300, they told me they couldn't bill me after, so I'm not sure what to do.

I was diagnosed with Celiac disease earlier this year, and these past few months I've been in a lot more pain than usual and lost a lot of weight without trying pretty quickly (among other things)

I tried calling my insurance multiple times to see if it could get covered, and my only option now is to pay upfront and see if I can get it partially covered after I get it (even though my doctor stressed it was necessary). I called around to the other doctors in my area that might take my insurance, and with my plan it's all the same thing - I'd have to pay upfront and submit the claim after. I hate to postpone this and not know what's going on or for it to get worse

I don't want to inconvenience anybody or make my friends who don't have the money feel like they are obligated to help me out or something; I'm embarrassed to have to do this in the first place, I just don't know what to do because I really don't have the money right now (and neither does my family)

It's been difficult to pretend everything is normal when I've been waking up with random stabbing pain in my gut or in so much pain at work that my vision blacked out the other day, which feels weird to type out. If I'm not able to meet the goal in time, all the money raised will go to paying off my existing medical debt and the cancelation fee, or if it's close enough, I'll try and get the rest of it together myself (I'm already working and selling stuff online)
