Our sister Gretchen Whitehorse Franzen has been hospitalized going on two weeks fighting an infection that has caused her liver and kidney failure. She has been diagnosed with Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis and the Doctors are currently trying to get to the root cause of the infection, in the meantime her liver condition has worsened and a transplant will be needed.

Gretchen has been seen by multiple Doctors and has been to multiple ER visits. Once the SBP has been treated and under control then the next step is for her to be placed in a rehabilitation center. She will then be required to see a liver specialist for further treatment.

So all in all this will be costly beyond her means, As her immediate family we are doing the best that we can to support Gretchen.

During her hospital visits over the past few months, Gretchen has been working part-time from home to support herself and her children (Adrian and Avery). However, at this point there is no incoming financial support from her or her husband who is unemployed.

At the moment, the expense is unknown. Neither Gretchen nor the family know the amount needed for hospital stay, rehabilitation center, liver specialist and legal fees; we do know Gretchen will not be able to handle these expenses or the means to be able to pay. Any amount raised will be directed to those cost(s).

As Gretchen’s immediate family we are doing all that we can individually. The expense that will be incurred will be far greater than simply we can’t afford. We are reaching out to relatives, friends, acquaintances, co-worker’s and anyone who can contribute.

As Gretchen’s family we are doing all that we can, but we are asking for your help in donating and are willing to contribute. Every little bit helps, even as little as $5.
