My name is Gregory Covell, though many know me as Constantine Aurelius from my years in radio and on stage. I was recently diagnosed with Metastatic P16 positive Squamous Cell Carcinoma in my right throat lymph nodes and tonsil. Thankfully, it hasn't spread beyond this area, but the diagnosis has turned my life upside down.
I am an alcoholic, sober for two years, and I work as a Behavioral Health Technician at the same facility that helped me regain my sobriety. Just as I was beginning to rebuild my life—off government assistance, earning a steady paycheck, and keeping up with basic expenses—cancer struck. My diagnosis drained my bank account, led to being laid off from my job, and strained my relationship with my wife. Each day is a struggle, and I dread waking up, unsure how we’ll make it through.
Your support will go directly to medical expenses, daily necessities like food and mortgage, and transportation to doctor appointments. We have nothing left. We were surviving paycheck to paycheck and finally moving forward, but cancer has taken everything. I am constantly tired, always sick, and unable to work despite my best efforts. After 30+ years as an award-winning vocalist and musician, my life has always been about making people happy. Now, I am fighting to survive. I am trying to get government coverage, but it takes time, and dental care needed for chemo isn’t covered. I can’t afford car payments, electricity, or even to have a working toilet installed. This diagnosis took us completely by surprise, and we are terrified.
I’ve worked my entire life to bring joy to others. Anything you can help with would be amazing. I am laid off, broke, and afraid for my life. Please help us. We are truly listening and grateful for any support you can give.
