[Working together with several other full time students to catch "backtuck to three high" off of exit board.]
September of 2019 I started full time circus training and I knew from the first day that I had found my passion, my calling. Since then I've prioritized it fully with every dollar I have and spent every moment training or working various jobs to pay for circus (or resting!) This philosophy of relentless determination has taken me up and down North America to train with different people, different coaches, and in different spaces. August of 2021 my recent training partner, Killian Sabourin
, and I were invited to join Pro Track at San Diego Circus Center
. Neither of us had met the head coach Jean-Luc or been to the city, but following the theme of relentless determination we decided it was our best chance for a performing career so we set out.
[Killian and I training "courbette", a fundamental Dynamic Hand to Hand skill.]
The program here has been everything I could have hoped for; thorough instruction on solo basics (like flexibility, handstands, and conditioning), ample time to train Hand to Hand, as well as consistent training on new disciplines such as Russian Bar and Teeterboard. However the workload is such that I don't have time or energy to work jobs as well. I'm training an average of 49 hours a week, meaning in order to remain in this program I'm going to need your help. The amount listed will cover tuition and rent for the rest of this school year, but any amount will help let me participate in the program longer. If you can't support financially, sharing this post would be a tremendous help too!
