Gregor Mattaliano III is a 43 yr old son, husband, brother, uncle & friend who will be there for you at the drop of a hat. His passions run deep, while his love for Star Wars and the Darkside are known across the galaxy.
On Wednesday the 12th of May Gregor had a very sudden onset medical emergency. Dr's are still unsure what caused his initial attack that caused him to go into an uncontrollable fit - where his arms and legs were flailing everywhere. This was where Gregor ended up banging his head around and tearing muscles all over his body as 4 Fireman and 3 paramedics tried to hold him down and sedate him. He was completely out of it and it still did not go very well.
He was in the ICU against an unknown virus that has attacked his body and turned it septic. He had been in the ICU Wednesday thru Saturday evening. They had to have him in an induced coma and on a ventilator to assist with breathing. They did every test possible to figure out where the infection is and what caused it.
He is now on the regular floor of the hospital and awake with oxygen on a fairly low setting I think, 4. We don't know if he had some type of seizure event that will reacurre in the future or not.
We are starting this GoFundMe to help with the expense of the medical bills, medically needed home changes (hospital bed, assist bars, dme co-pays & deductibles, RX co-pays...)
Additionally a means of travel back and forth from the hospital is needed. Uber rides, or renting a car for a week would be incredible.
Some leads on info would be great:
Do you know of a used car that runs and is a miracle of a deal on price??
Have an extra vehicle I could use to get back and forth from home to Portland Adventist?
Know anyone that can find an engine for a 2012 Chevy Traverse V6 3.8L?
Know a mobile mechanic that can look at our engine that most likely has a broken rod??
The stress of all this is intense.
Gregor is a fighter and it helped that I was with him when his attack happened. It caused his heart to go out of rhythm and it had to be shocked in the ER.
I will post updates as I can.
Thank you everyone. We love you all. Even if all you do is share or have him in your thoughts.
Please feel free to reach out to me if needed. Text or messenger is best for now as I am up at the hospital with Gregor and must have my phone on silent.
I can't thank you all enough for the love and support everyone has and continues to provide for the entire Mattaliano family.
