My name is Gregg Reed and I am 19 years old. During my senior year of high school, I was assaulted on the evening of my prom. As a result, I suffered a traumatic brain injury and I now live with epilepsy. I experience multiple seizures every day, and they have recently begun occurring in my sleep as well.
My doctors have diagnosed me as drug-resistant, which means the many medications I am on are not able to fully control my seizures. Because of this, I need an epi monitoring device and other medical equipment to help alert my family when I am having a seizure, especially during the night. Unfortunately, my insurance will not cover this equipment.
This device could truly be the difference between life and death for me. It sends an alarm to my family so they can respond quickly and make sure I am safe during a seizure.
In addition to this, I have ongoing medical expenses and unpaid ambulance and hospital bills that insurance is barely covering. Due to my uncontrolled seizures, I am unable to work, attend college, or live independently at this time.
Any amount you can give would help me move toward a safer and more stable life. Even sharing this fundraiser means more than you know. Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and prayers. God bless you.
