Help Greg Start Their Next Chapter

Hi!

My name is Greg Hill (they/she) and I’m fundraising to help cover moving costs and keep myself fed over the next month or so. I recently had a pretty significant shift in life plans, so now I'm looking for both work and housing (woohoo, don't we all love looking for both at the same time?) as I move towards whatever the next chapter of my life will be.

Right now, my timeline for moving is as soon as mid/late August to September 1st or around then, so I'm looking at a pretty urgent turnaround. Until I can find a place, and a job to pay for it, I'm couch-surfing with friends in Providence, RI.

These funds will help me show potential landlords/property managers/roommates that I can meet the necessary income/deposit requirements. Those requirements are probably my biggest barriers right now. I’m looking for work now, but need to fundraise to sustain myself for the time being. If you're having trouble imagining the position I'm in, not having income makes it harder to find a place, which means I have to spend time & energy figuring out how to keep my needs met, which means I have less time & energy to look for work, which makes it even harder to find a place, and that cycle just keeps on turnin'. I need my community's help to break it.

Fortunately, I've got a couple of interviews coming up that I'm really excited about, and more applications I have yet to hear back on. In the words of Lou Wilson (as Gunnie) in Dimension 20's "A Starstruck Odyssey", the ball is rolling up! These funds will just help it, y'know, roll up a lot faster.

All that said, thank you so much for taking the time to read all this. I know there's a lot going on out there in the world, and I'm just one person asking for help. But, for what it's worth, I promise you that anything you can give will help me make my world a little bit better, and from there I'll be able to make someone else's world a little bit better. If we all did that sorta thing, I think we all might be better off.
