Help our friend Greg with medical treatment

Hi friends, herbalists, herbal students, and holistic practitioners! I am the clinical herbalist at Sage Consulting & Apothecary and I want to introduce you to a dear friend and client Greg Cardoza. He and his family are some of the most deeply kind and moral people we have ever met. They have had tremendous hardships over the past 4 ½ years and they need your help! Here is what Greg has to say:

Please help me to get the medical care I need. I was always healthy, never smoked, chewed tobacco or drank alcohol. First, I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in late 2019. I have a wonderful wife of 39 years with Type I diabetes, two daughters, one with multiple special needs that my wife cares for at home, and 4 grandchildren. I want to be around for many more years to spend time with my family and loving friends.

We are seeking to raise $14,000 to cover the cost of alternative treatments (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as well as Vitamin C injections), which my conventional and holistic health care team both strongly recommend to complete my healing. These treatments will help heal the effects of the Cellulitis, Pemphigus and Long Covid, which have left my body inflamed, weakened, and unable to fully recover.

Soon after the completion of radiation and chemo, I received a feeding tube that is still in place. I developed Pemphigus, a rare skin disorder caused by a weakened immune system. Next, I developed severe cellulitis and later, I came down with COVID last September and was hospitalized for 16 days, 5 of which I was on a ventilator. I almost died….again!

That brings us to May 2022. I am now cancer free 2 ½ years. My skin is scarred from cellulitis and Pemphigus but is gradually improving. I am still on a feeding tube but with these therapies I will once more be able to swallow and eat again by mouth. I am a tenacious fighter! God has a plan for my life, and I have so much to live for.

I am enjoying life again and spending as much time with family and friends as possible. I have new dreams and goals to achieve and am excited about life. But there is still this darn feeding tube. I would love to be able to eat normally again and to get off of chemotherapy. That is where you come in. You see, health insurance does not cover these alternative treatments. I have continued to work through this ordeal but on one income we cannot afford the extra expense. My wife cares for my adult special needs daughter at home. We deeply appreciate any amount you can give to help me fully recover.
