Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Jessica, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest moments our family has ever faced. My husband, Greg Gitke, is a dedicated heavy equipment mechanic who pours his heart and skill into every job he takes on. He’s the guy people call when machines break down in tough conditions—he’s reliable, hardworking, and proud of providing for our family with his hands.

This evening, while working an extra job for a friend outside his regular hours, a serious accident happened. He severely damaged two fingers on his right (dominant) hand. He’s currently in surgery right now as doctors work to repair the damage, rebuild function, and hopefully save as much use of his hand as possible. We’re holding our breath for good news from the operating room.

As a mechanic, his hands are literally his livelihood. This injury means he won’t be able to work for weeks or months during recovery, rehab, and any follow-up procedures. We’ve already been stretched thin financially, and he was worried about bills even on the way to the hospital. Now we’re facing mounting medical costs, lost wages, possible physical therapy, medications, and everyday expenses while he heals.

We’re asking for your help to ease this burden so he can focus on getting better without the constant stress of money. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Hospital and surgery bills

• Follow-up doctor visits and hand therapy

• Lost income during his time off work

• Basic household needs while he recovers
