There is a GREAT need in Brockton for a place like The Rose Conservatory. A safe space for kids to forget about their troubles and learn about music and art from educators, mentors and staff of various colors and backgrounds. When students see a person who represents their background in a position such as this, it gives them hope for a better future.
I fully understand the various challenges students who live in Brockton face on a daily basis. Some kids are experiencing poverty, homelessness, parents who are unable to care for them, and many other socioeconomic issues.

What does it take to get a start-up off the ground? It takes capital.
The funds collected will be used in a variety of ways such as securing a space, building that space to suit, hiring staff, the purchase of new/used instruments, instrument repair, music stands, music books, teaching materials, uniforms, technology, scholarship programs, hiring help, advertising, marketing, internet, etc.

At The Rose Conservatory, I believe the power of music and learning can transform the lives of our children, especially children that look like me, talk like me and will experience the same things I experienced as a young man of color in Brockton. When I was a child, there wasn't a music conservatory in Brockton or nearby. My mother had to drive an hour for me to have a 40 minute violin lesson. But to her, it was worth the drive because it enriched my mind with culture and substance. Her dream was for me to make something out of myself with the tools she was able to provide.
The Rose Conservatory will provided access to exceptional arts education and performance for the Brockton community, fostering creativity, artistic growth, and well-being for individuals of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We will empower a diverse range of children as scholars, artists, and leaders through unique and rigorous academic remote learning assistance, mentorship and music education. We will enrich the larger community through performance, service, and collaboration. The Rose Conservatory will use the most effective ways to achieve youth development goals through intensive investment in the positive social impact of music ensemble creation, rehearsal, public performance and academic assistance.
