Help Greg and Rhonda Rebuild from the Dixie Fire

Donation protected

Rhonda Reames and Greg Ely lost their home and all of their belongings during the Dixie Fire on August 4, 2021 when the fire swept through the Historical Town of Greenville, California. They were only able to leave with their dog, Bodhi, and a few articles of clothing. They will have to start from scratch to rebuild their home.

Greg and Rhonda are two of the most giving, fun and enthusiastic people you will ever meet. Greg worked at Los Altos High School as the Auto Shop teacher and the Girls Swimming coach for 20+ years. He is an active member of the Peacemaker MC, Masonic Lodge, Los Altos #712 and Valiant Effort Foundation. He also volunteers at the Oakland Aviation Museum.

Rhonda has called Greenville home for over 21 years. She works for Plumas County, currently positioned at the Wellness Center in Greenville, as a Site Coordinator. She assists her community members directly to access various resources including food stamps, medical care and jobs and is always there to sit and listen when someone just needs to talk.

Both Rhonda and Greg are very active in their community participating in parades, Gold Digger’s Day, car shows, and other community events. They were very hands on when the Camp Fire happened just down the way in Paradise, coordinating and organizing donations with alumni from Greg’s Los Altos High School Days. At the start of the Dixie Fire, they helped other community members shelter then evacuate and provided a staging ground on their property for emergency crews.

This is understandably a devastating time for Rhonda and Greg, who are loved immensely by all who know them. The property they own and lived at was the Old Cheney Sawmill in Greenville which is deemed uninsurable due to the type of structure/property and age. No donation is too small as the losses suffered will be their responsibility to recover solely. These donations will help with temporary housing, supplies and predominantly go toward rebuilding their home and life.

We thank you all for your love and support!!
