HELP GREG CREATE A NEW LIVELIHOOD FOR HIMSELF AND MAYA WHILE MANAGING THE PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF BPV.

EVERY GIFT HELPS -- NO GIFT IS TOO SMALL...

Hi,  this is Greg...

...and I'm Maya, the Siberian Husky -- you know, the handsome one in the photo, and Greg's best friend.  Let me explain what's going on...

During the first quarter of 2016, Greg began experiencing increasing fatigue and periodic dizziness for no obvious reasons.  Having been a healthy guy throughout his life, he took it in stride and kept working at a local computer company, though sometimes the intensity of the symptoms caused him to miss work.  The company reorganized at the end of the summer and his work there ended.  By the end of the year, the symptoms were getting worse.  Greg figured things would improve, but by February, the dizziness became more frequent, incapacitating, and also unpredictable.  He'd have trouble walking or even standing up.  Everything would start spinning and he'd almost fall down or become very nauseous and lose the ability to concentrate throughout the day.  To make things worse, it was impacting our walks!  I convinced Greg he should see the doctor.

Greg has been diagnosed with BPV (Benign Positional Vertigo).  Presumably, "Benign" refers to "not lethal", since there's nothing "benign" in how the vertigo is significantly affecting his ability to move about or work.  Taking the standard medication isn't an option for Greg due to bad side effects.  Physical treatment is helping, but in a 50/50 manner with symptoms returning after a period of time.  A good day is followed by some bad ones.  A morning can be decent, but the afternoon wiped out.  It's exhausting for him... and to my dismay, our walks have gotten even shorter!

Symptoms are reduced when Greg is sitting, so working on the computer is feasible until the symptoms make reading impossible or he just needs to lie down for rest.  Greg's money has run out and he's 4 months behind in rent.  (Greg has a VERY kind and understanding landlord -- but this can't go on much longer.)   Some friends have helped as they can, but we're living dollar-to-dollar with unpaid expenses growing.

Greg is trying to build an Internet business online for income, but we need more time and financial resources -- we're barely treading water financially.  He's hoping some folks can help us get caught up on rent and recent expenses/debt, and then fund 9 months of a bare-bones budget to let the online business grow to produce sustainable income.  (Did I really just say, "bare-bones"???)

Greg hopes to get me the canine oral surgery I seriously need (estimated at $1,200) with these funds.  He's also hoping to prepay 4 months of rent to the landlord as a show of good faith after getting the rent caught up.  To accomplish this, we need to raise $10,000 by July5th.  The landlord has been patient, but now we're facing losing our residence and being homeless.

Ok, I'm gonna let Greg talk now...

Hi, this is Greg.  You know, I have to say I'm very grateful for my life with Maya.  But now, essentially, I've run out of options, other than the plan outlined so concisely by Maya (she's really a very intelligent husky).  My money is all gone due to a number of circumstances, including my current health situation.  My body has thrown me a real curve with the vertigo and I'm hoping I can successfully adapt with your kindness and support as Maya and I make this transition.

My future hope lies in the online business which I can conduct when the vertigo symptoms are calm or while I'm sitting.  I'm confident I can develop a successful online business, but at this point, I just need more time to effectively adjust to the physical effects of the vertigo.  The hope for growing the business -- instead of seeing my life disintegrate into chaos before my eyes -- rests in folks like you who may have the financial latitude to help us.  Obviously, these are not circumstances I have ever wanted -- I've been a fairly responsible and independent guy.  But my physical condition now necessitates me enlisting the compassionate assistance of others to enable me to develop the means to move forward successfully.

So, my very heartfelt thanks to all who can see their way to helping us.  Maya sends her thanks, too!  I've been a fairly generous person throughout my life.  Now, it seems I need to be the recipient.  I have probably hesitated longer than I should have in asking for help.  I'm running out of time before things fall apart.

In  honor of your help, my pledge to you is that I will joyfully "pay it forward" with contributions to campaigns for others and other charities using 10% of my net profit from the first year of the online business.  I will thoroughly enjoy doing that!

Thank you so very much for considering our appeal!  Please freely share it with anyone you know who may have the means and willingness to help.  Thank you!
