Help Greg Rebuild After a Devastating Fire

On December 27th, my father, Greg, lost everything he worked so hard for when his wood shop was destroyed in a sudden and devastating fire. The fire was ruled accidental and electrical, originating in a junction box. There was no warning and no chance to save anything — the loss was total.

My dad is retired but continued working part-time as a self-made contractor and wood shop owner. For decades, he was a self-taught craftsman who refurbished old furniture, took on contractor jobs, and worked tirelessly to support himself and his family. He rented part of the building next to the liquor store and used it as his workshop — his livelihood. Inside were all of his tools, equipment, materials, and the furniture he was restoring. Everything he owned to make a living was in that shop.

In a matter of minutes, it was all gone.

Greg has never been the type of person to ask for help. He has always worked long hours, taken any job he could find, worked holidays, and done whatever was needed to provide for his family. Asking for support does not come easily to him, which is why I’m creating this GoFundMe on his behalf.

This loss has taken an extreme emotional and mental toll on him, along with a significant financial strain. His only source of income came from his part-time contractor work and woodworking — both of which depended entirely on the shop and tools that were destroyed. With winter already being such a difficult time, he’s now left unsure of what steps to take next and how to move forward.

Any funds raised will go directly toward helping Greg replace essential tools, cover immediate expenses, and begin rebuilding his livelihood. Every donation, share, and kind word means more than we can express.
