Help Greek strays Milo and Skyla find there forever home

Milo and Skyla’s story …..

As most of you know last week we traveled to Greece Crete on our holidays ☀️On the first night after just getting to our hotel we came across 2 stray dogs we didn’t approached them and watched from a distance (Lewis knows what I’m like for getting attached).

A couple of days later we noticed them again and gave them a little cuddle and belly tickle their cuteness got the best of me and that’s where our story

Begins!

I decided that night to go to the shop and get them some treats just thinking it would be a nice thing to do. This has now become a regular routine for us on our holiday we will find the puppies every night and give them some yummy snacks and cuddles. But as expected we have fallen in love with these dogs and become so attached.

They are 3 and a half months old brother and sister we have nicknamed them skyla and milo. They are the sweetest most gental pups Skyla (the girl) is cheeky brave and curious who loves going on adventures in the day Milo (the boy) is calm loving and his favourite thing to do is nap and have belly tickles.

We have tried everything to get these dogs help! We have messaged loads of shelters but, unfortunately they are all at capacity and cannot take them as they are not seriously injured. One of the shelters suggested we ask for help on Facebook, so we are taking their advice! We can’t bare the thought of leaving them on the streets when we come home on Friday, anything could happen to them and it’s heart breaking there full of ticks and fleas but considering everything they have been through they are so lovely and trusting and always excited to see us!

We finally have an update on what the situation is with the pups!

So we’ve been in contact with multiple shelters, however we haven’t got very far with them as they are all at full capacity.

Everyone’s help with sharing our posts and giving us guidance on who we could contact has really helped us!

We found a charity called Friends of strays Greece and our hopes was so high to be able to bring them home, unfortunately this was not possible to bring the dogs home through this charity. This broke our hearts and we had a cry.

But then another lady who works with the same charity got in contact with us and has been helping she has been brilliant she has been in contact with a lot of shelters in UK and who are more than willing to help us.

St Bernard and Big Paws rescue can’t foster them. They will look for homes for them and are pretty confident they will get homes as they are very sociable dogs. But they can’t pay for kennels and don’t have a free foster home to take care of them while looking for a home until a forever home has been found for them, a lovely charity called Hectors House Crete has offered the pups shelter to quarantine for 21 days before they are able to transport them over to Athens where they would be collected to bring them back to the UK.

However, as we can’t do this process though a charity, we have to raise the funds on our own and this is where we hope our friends/ family and many others that can watch this video and all the other videos of the pups can help us out, by donating, sharing, liking and comment to spread this post far and wide. Anything you can do to contribute would mean the world to us and start a new life for these beautiful puppies.

We ourselves and many others already know how the strays get treated in Greece but until we have been trying to help these pups we didn’t know the extent of how they are treated, many dogs get poisoned by locals to stop and prevent the number of strays, and these dogs out of peak tourist seasons could be involved in violent treatment, starved or much worse and have about 1% survival chance as it’s mainly tourists that fed them through the holiday seasons.

So please anyone that can help us raise enough money to try and make sure these dogs get a better, happy life filled with love by the perfect family.
