Hi all! Im Grayson, a 23 year old black, trans and disabled full-time student seeking gender affirming care. I have known since the age of 9 that I would eventually want surgery on my chest, but it wasn’t until my teens that I realized I sought top surgery. As a nonbinary person (agender) I am after what is known as non flat top surgery/ majority breast reduction in order to achieve a surgery that is proportional and as affirming as possible. I was referred to one of the best top surgeons in Chicago, but unfortunately my insurance isn’t covered and my surgery will be entirely out of pocket. At the moment, I am fundraising for the quoted price of $12,000-$18,000 and I am starting from 0. As a full time student who is also disabled, it is difficult to find a job that is sustainable long term for my body that also allows me to continue my schooling, so I walk dogs on the side. While I would love to fully fund my surgery myself, I need help being able to raise enough to prevent needing to use care credit which can be a difficult feat.
