Help Gravy Fight His FIP Battle
Donation protected
Hi everyone! I never thought I would find myself in a situation where I would need to come here and ask for help, but life always seems to find its way to throw the craziest curveballs at people when they least expect it.
Anyway, this is my 9-month-old kitten, Gravy. He was recently taken into the emergency vet, where they discovered a fairly large and concerning mass in his abdomen. Well over a thousand dollars worth of tests were done and came back inconclusive, but the vet is very confident he has a form of cancer. This is my baby. As someone who has struggled to have children, this is the closest thing I have to a kid of my own, and anyone who has lost a kid or even a pet they love knows how distressing and awful this can be.
We do have hope, though. The vet told us there is an oncologist in Portland, Maine, we can take Gravy to so we can run some more tests and confirm his cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, the vet quoted us at just shy of 8 grand just for proper diagnostics since it is internal. Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I are both 19 (I turn 19 on June 3rd and found out about Gravy’s cancer on June 1st after losing my mother to a very similar cancer 2 weeks before my 13th birthday. Happy birthday to me) and are in the process of buying our first house, so every penny of our savings is going to getting us housing.
Any donations would be appreciated beyond measure. Our next step is humane euthanasia if we are unable to cover his oncologist trip, which we are beyond dreading, but my boy needs help ASAP. If there’s anyone out there with a few extra bucks in your pocket and you’ve got a soft spot for animals, we would be eternally grateful for any and all support we get on this grueling and stressful journey❤️ Even just a prayer for my little guy is helpful!!
